StrenuousK2 Base Camp Trek
The classic Baltoro approach to the foot of the world's second-highest mountain.
- Region
- Central Karakoram, Baltistan
- Max altitude
- ≈5,150 m at K2 Base Camp
- Season
- Late June to early September

Expeditions are our longest and most committing trips. They run deep into the Central Karakoram — up the Baltoro Glacier to Concordia, where four of the world's fourteen 8,000-metre peaks stand within sight of one another, and on to the base camps beneath them.
These are glacier journeys. You travel on ice for days at a time, camp on moraine, and cross terrain where weather closes in quickly and the nearest road is a week behind you. We plan them around acclimatisation, porter logistics and the short Karakoram summer window, with local guides who have worked these routes for years.
