Broad Peak & Gasherbrum Base Camps
About This Route
From Concordia the Upper Baltoro continues east toward the Gasherbrum group. This route visits the base camps used by expeditions on Broad Peak (8,051 m) and Gasherbrum I and II (8,080 m and 8,035 m), following the glacier past Shagring and Ali Camp.
It suits trekkers who want more than the standard Concordia turnaround and are content to spend additional days living on the glacier. In climbing season the base camps are working camps, and the walk-in gives an unusually direct look at how big-mountain expeditions are actually run.
