Basho Valley Trek
Basho Valley is a lush, glacier-fed valley near Skardu that grew from a Silk Road trade bypass into one of the region's most popular alpine trekking routes. This five-day trek climbs from the traditional jeep-track village of Sultan Abad through forests, alpine meadows, and high-altitude camps beneath the Basho Glacier, ending either at Shaghar Thang or back in Skardu.

Skardu to Sultan Abad via Basho Valley (Jeep Drive)
Drive: 45 min to Basho Bridge, then 1–1.5 hours by jeep
- Leave Skardu and head into the lush, scenic Basho Valley, passing traditional villages and beautiful greenery along the way.
- After crossing the KH (Basho) Bridge, the jeep track narrows through a wild valley surrounded by high mountains.
- Sultan Abad, known as the 'Heart of Basho Valley,' sits at around 3,000 meters and marks the end of the jeep route — a peaceful meadow perfect for camping.

Sultan Abad to Trala Bat
Trek: 4–5 hours
- The trek begins with a steady ascent through forests, streams, and alpine meadows.
- Enjoy stunning views of the surrounding peaks and untouched nature along the way.
- Trala Bat is a quiet, calm campsite offering a genuine wilderness experience.

Trala Bat to Punar Camp
Trek: 4–6 hours
- Continue climbing toward Punar Camp, a higher elevation zone with cooler temperatures and more dramatic landscapes.
- Wildflowers, mountain streams, and glaciers begin to dominate the scenery.

Punar Camp to Rdukas
Trek: 4–5 hours
- A scenic trek through high-altitude terrain leads to Rdukas, a remote and majestic part of Basho Valley.
- The terrain becomes more rugged, with increasingly rewarding panoramic views.

Rdukas to Shaghar Thang or Return to Skardu
Trek + drive option
- From Rdukas, either continue exploring to Shaghar Thang, another pristine section of the valley, or begin the return trek to Sultan Abad and drive back to Skardu.
- The return route offers a different perspective on the landscape crossed earlier, with more time to take in the surroundings.
